In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors medical treatment, shelter, and adoptions for lost and homeless animals.

We've been adopted!

Tiny - Spayed Female

I have been in a good home (loved by a Veterinarian) but when one of the kids became asthmatic I had to come here to find another good home. You can see I am beautiful, long thick black fur and golden eyes. I have no bad habits and am very independent. I want to come to you for love. I especially like my head scratched. I very much prefer to be the ONLY cat, it suits my regal nature.

Samson - Young male, black and white

Super friendly young, male kitty, black and white, left behind when family moved out-of-state. Loves children and adults.

Halo (4/1/04) - Orange and White, Male

Halo was found with a collar but no ID. He is about 7 lbs and is a brilliant orange and white color. He has a white patch in the middle of his back, white paws, chest and mixed white and orange on his face. He is adorable, rambunctious and very, very playful. His favorite toy is a tiny mouse and he also likes small balls that make noises. He will, however, play with just about anything that is available to him. He is looking for someone to love and spoil him.

Gilly - 3 years - Russian Blue Mix, Spayed Female

Please call Stephanie at 310-819-2852 for more information.

Zeke - 6 year old black, declawed neutered male

Sidney - 3 year old white, declawed neutered male

Zeke is inquisitive -- at times acts more like a dog than a cat as he is typically not afraid of strangers, enjoys people and likes to play with other cats.

Sidney is a very friendly, loving cat. Is very shy and scared around new people but once he gets to know somebody is very loving. Enjoys being held and cuddled. Loves playing with other cats.

Orange neutered male, declawed

Very mild disposition; doesn’t seem to shed much; misses the inside warmth of a home and likes to be with people; content to sit, nap or just lie near someone; doesn’t mind being held or picked up; loves being pet on head/face, under chin, & back; gets along with other cats; never bites, growls or hisses.

Gepetto - 10/1/04 (male, will be neutered)

I was found weighing 7 ounces. I am getting lots of love and attention and growing but won’t be able to go home until at least 11/15 but you can come see me and if you fall in love, you can put a deposit to guarantee I go home with you. I am very cute and playful and get along well with other kittens.

128 & 129 - More info soon!

Pansy - Spayed Female between 3 and 8 years old

Pansy came to us with VERY bad teeth, consequently was almost emaciated. We did a dental and had to take out most of her teeth but now she feels much better and is eating and gaining weight slowly. She gets along with other cats and loves to be combed and purrs as soon as you touch her

Harry, Cruiser & Elton (6/04) - Males

Harry - Lightest
Cruiser - Fluffiest
Elton - Darkest

Shannon, Snickers & Scout (6/04) - Spayed Females

Shannon - Brown Tabby
Snickers - Red Brown Tabby, beautiful markings!
Scout - Dilute Torti

Drake (approximate birthdate 5/15/04) - Black, Neutered Male

I engage in serious conversations as well as purr. I enjoy playing and resting next to people, but I'll squirm a lot if you try to hold me on your lap. I think that's something I'll grow out of, but I'll always be a talker.

Fresca - Tabby

Jade - (1999) Black and White, Declawed, Spayed Female

I was adopted the first time three years ago as a Peter Zippi homeless cat. Now my owner is very sick, and I had to come back to find a new home. It is very confusing to me, coming back and leaving a home I loved, but I am making the most of it. I just had a dental and my vaccines updated, so I'm ready for my big date with a new family.

Bijou & C.J. - (2/1/04) Tabby, Spayed Females

We were born in a feral colony outside Men’s Central Jail. We are a little shy, although we’ve been living in a foster home since we were 6 weeks old. We just need a bit more one-on-one attention, and we will come out of our shells.

Frosty - (5/31/04) Black with silver frosted fur on legs, Male

JoJo - (5/31/04) Orange Tabby, Male

Mom is a stray who allowed us to be handled from an early age. We are very social and loving. We can go to a new home as soon as we are big enough to be neutered.

Maggie - (1998) Black, Spayed Female

I lived in a hectic home - too many kids, cats, and ruckus for my sensitivities. So I peed on the carpet. Since I have come to the Peter Zippi Fund, several staff members have had me in their homes for a week or so each, and my litterbox and other habits were perfect. They really love me. One nice lady adopted me, but she didn't give me enough "emotional space", so I peed again on the carpet. Now I'm back up for adoption. I am smart and sweet, but do not appreciate being held on a lap. I like for my humans to play "hard to get", and then I'll sleep on the bed and have a loving, mutual respect type of relationship. I'll get along with a well-mannered dog and older kids, but please, no toddlers. I've had to wait a long time to find a family or person who "fits" with me.

Shady - 3 1/2 months, Dark Gray, Neutered Male

My brother and I were saved from the streets of South Los Angeles. I came to Peter Zippi Fund for testing, fixing, the whole deal. Check out my eyes; they are two different colors! I am getting to really trust people now.

Simba - 3 1/2 months, Orange, Neutered Male

My brother and I were abandoned outside the clinic door in a box. He found a home, and I miss him!

Sammy - 7 weeks, Tabby & White, Neutered Male

We were rescued from a feral cat colony as babies. We are a bit shy, but will warm right up with time, as we were so little when we were removed from all those "bad influences".

Smokey - 9 weeks, Black & Brown, Neutered Male

We were rescued from a feral cat colony as babies. We are a bit shy, but will warm right up with time, as we were so little when we were removed from all those "bad influences".

Bunny - 9 weeks, Black, Spayed Female

I was abandoned the same day as "Zen", but have evan a sorrier story. I was 5 weeks old, and had a broken hind leg and a facial injury! Now my leg has been pinned, and I'm doing fine. I am a real lover, having gotten over my rejection immediately.

Odie - 11 weeks, Black & White, Neutered Male

I was a "street urchin" with my sister in the South Bay. We got cleaned up, fixed, and she got a home already. Now I need one too! I'm a pretty mellow guy with a huge purr.

Zen - 3 1/2 months, Black & White, Neutered Male

My brother and I were abandoned outside the clinic door in a box. I will probably be big, and am as relaxed as my name implies.

Frannie (St. Francis) - 11 weeks, White & Calico, Spayed Female

A man taking Mom and us into the animal shelter gave us to a rescue lady outside the door. She gave us to the Peter zippi Fund so we could get fixed and find homes. We are both white with calico spots.

Terri (St. Teresa) - 11 weeks, White & Calico, Spayed Female

A man taking Mom and us into the animal shelter gave us to a rescue lady outside the door. She gave us to the Peter zippi Fund so we could get fixed and find homes. We are both white with calico spots.

Magic - 14 weeks, Black, Neutered Male

We were born to a stray Mommy cat, and handled throughout our baby-hood, so we would be very people-friendly. I am the last of 4.

Cindy - (1994) Snow White Manx, Spayed Female, declawed

I was in a loving home all my life. I am friendly with people of all ages (of course really little children should have an adult help them relate to me), and very gentle. My owner’s new bride is terribly allergic to me, so I have to find a new home. I have my own automatic litterbox, water dish and food dish. Please consider adding me to your family. I just had a dental, and am in great health.

Stella - (5/31/04) Torti, Spayed Female

I was a stray kitten with a huge purr. I hope my “Streetcar Named Desire” is heading to a new home soon. To see me is to love me.

Jack - (5/15/04) Black and White, Neutered Male

Jill - (5/15/04) Black and White, Spayed Female

We were born to a feral mom in a residential neighborhood near UCLA. Mom and Dad have been trapped and sterilized, and we were just trapped. We are pretty scared right now, but with a little love, we’ll be very sweet kittens as soon as can be.

94 - 7/20/04 Spayed Female

I was born at a nursing home and rescued and brought to Peter Zippi. I am loving and playful and purr all the time. I can go home 10/9/04.

95 & 97 - 5/15/04 Black, Neutered Male & Spayed Female

We were born in a back yard but brought into a home with our Mom while very young. We get along well with other kittens and cats as there were many of us around until we came to Peter Zippi. When the dogs come through the lobby they don’t bother us at all so we might be OK with a dog in the house.

Tinkerbell - 7/1/04, Dilute Tabby, Spayed Female
Candice - 7/1/04, Brown Tabby, Spayed Female
Odin - 7/1/04, Orange, Neutered Male, Injured Eye

Tinkerbell and Candice are sisters who are recuperating from a cold but are getting better fast. It would be nice if they could go together or in a home with other cats. They love to play with toys and be held.

Some kids found Odin and poked out his eye. A rescuer took him to a vet and the eye was fixed but he is blind in that eye. Since it happened while he was young he gets along fine. He started out a little wary of humans but he loves being held and purrs all the time. If you like Odin we can talk further about his eye.

Harry (Potter) - 7/1/04, Gray Tabby, Neutered Male
I was found with my bothers and named after Harry Potter because it looks like I have eye glasses. I went to a home but missed my brothers so much and since I was left home alone a lot I peed on their sofa. Since I have been back at the clinic I have been very good. Now I would like a home that is settled but has at least one other cat or kitten to be my friend.

Sam - 6/15/04, White with brown, Neutered Male
Steve - 6/15/04, Brown tabby, Neutered Male
Susie - 6/15/04, White with black, Spayed Female

These guys were dropped on our door step with a note saying their family had moved and taken the Mom cat but left the kittens. They are shy and scared but considering how poorly humans have treated them so far, they are already purring and seem to appreciate all our attentions. They will do better in a home with no small children and a patient owner and they should blossom into loving friends.
